I Love the 80s

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I love unexpected color combinations. I've been wanting to do a hot pink, blue, and teal look for awhile and finally managed to do one tonight. The hot pink color I used is a NYX color from the first palette I ever bought:

The blue color is "radium" from Urban Decay's Book of Shadows Vol. 3:

The teal color on my lower eyelid is none other than the matte teal from Wet n Wild's "Pride" palette. This color is amazing and surprisingly versatile, especially with bolder looks like this one.

And finally, the look:

And now I sleep.

Starry Night with Wet n Wild

My friend Julie bought me a "snowflake" pigment as a Christmas gift and I've wanted to create a look with it ever since.

Doesn't it remind you of fluffy snow shining under the sun? I love it! I decided to apply it over a purple smoky look. I blended everything out with a teal color and it instantly reminded me of a starry night sky. The purple colors in the Wet n Wild "Lust" palette served as a great base for this look.

Anyway, this is what I ended up with. It was difficult to capture the shimmer, but I hope the idea is still there:

Wet n Wild Pride

Photobucket

This palette contains some unique colors. The matte, mossy/minty green color is awesome. The blues are superhero-esque. The matte white is pretty chalky and the shimmery white/cream color is great for highlighting. But who's worried about naturally highlighting an eye covered in green and blue? I wish the whites were orange or yellow colors instead, honestly. Either way, using these colors together was a challenge. Maybe I'll tackle this palette again another day but for now this is what I came up with:

Wet n Wild WTF?

Like many other make-up enthusiasts, collectors, whatever, as soon as I saw swatches from Wet n Wild's "Color Icon" palettes, I knew I had to get them. After some searching, I finally managed to find them and bought all four.

I decided to use the "Greed" palette today (first in picture). The black color wasn't as pigmented or intense as I was hoping, so I added a deep, carbon black color to the outer corners to darken it. Anyway, here's the look I ended up with and I hope you all enjoy:

P-p-p-poker Face

Lady Gaga's make-up is incredibly inspiring to me. This look is a particular favorite. I'm a sucker for interesting color combinations, especially with make-up. The candy pink lips are amazing and serve as great contrast to the green and brown colors of the eye shadow. While browsing NYX products at Ulta, I came across their "Narcissus" lipstick and it was almost an exact match to the color she is wearing in this photo. I bought it in anticipation of recreating this look, and here is the result. I was surprised with how much I loved the lip color on me, though I'm not brave enough to wear it out in public.. yet! :D I hope you all enjoy.
